Visiting Emery Down at any time of the year is a wonderful experience. Summertime is particularly pleasant due to the warm weather and the many summer activities that can be enjoyed by everyone in the family.
Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary
There is nothing better than being able to enjoy the natural environment here, except when you get the chance to see the deer at the Deer Sanctuary. It is only four miles from Emery Down. During the summer months the deer like to hang out in the main meadow so there is a good chance to see them. What is particularly interesting is that some of the deer are white, which is uncommon.
Longdown Activity Farm
A farm can be visited at any time of the year, but the summer is particularly interesting. Many of the babies born in the spring can be seen, and they are most enjoyable to watch. At this particular farm, it’s a hands-on affair. Visitors get to participate in the daily activities that take place in a farming operation such as this. There are all kinds of animals that need tending to, such as donkey and sheep and the lovable alpacas. Handling a baby chick or a baby rabbit is just a prime example of what awaits here.
Cyling
Cycling is an activity that can serve many purposes when visiting here. Not only does it provide some great exercise, but it also allows cyclists to get up close and personal with the natural environment. The air is fresh, and the scenery is beautiful. It is just one of many ways to make the most of a visit to Emery Down.
